Southern Alberta - Ice sailors meet on Ghost Lake, just 18 km. west of Cochrane highway 1A. The sailing club is now known as Ghost Lake Ice Sailing Club and has about 50 members that sail during the winter months. The most common boats are the DN’s and home built models. This club has a winter club house at the lake and is always open to new and interested sailors. This winter the club hopes to organize several events and all are welcome.

The newest competitive keelboat fleet to Alberta, the San Juan 24 was designed by Bruce Kirby for competitive racing and comfortable cruising. She features a contemporary, high-aspect ratio sail plan, fine sharp entry for minimum motion, minimum wetted surface and an exceptionally long water line. These fantastic features make the San Juan 24 a very close-winded, very fast sailboat. A fantastic light and moderate air boat that moves in the slightest of breeze. She sails with the best when the heavy air blows. The San Juan 24 Fleet is being actively raced throughout the sailing season creating some of the most competitive and enjoyable racing in Alberta.
